Alas, no. I couldn't persuade BenBella that a book on Babylon 5 would be both fun to put together and highly desired by fans. I also inquired if the idea of a B5 topic would be of interest to Pop Culture and Philosophy folks (as in, BSG and Philosophy, Star Trek and Philosophy), and they had no interest in pursuing one.

I'm reformulating my outline and I may pitch again to UK publishers, since B5 was bigger over there at first, it might make enough of an impression to get past the first door, at least.

I would definitely buy one of the Babylon 5 books from Smart Pop. I bought the Firefly one earlier this year and it's wonderful. The Battlestar Galactica one is on my Christmas list.

It's sad that they can't do the B5 movies in Los Angeles, but I can understand why they are shooting up in Canada. WB is taking a risk in making these films, so they want to keep costs low in case the DVDs don't sell. I think the DVDs will sell very well, but entertainment companies are cautious. As Summer said, maybe they could switch production to LA if the DVDs are a hit. Since I'm just "down the freeway" in San Diego, that would be so cool!:)
