When you talked about the galactic peace verses earth first. It made me wonder and get thoughtful. Has there ever been a nation that was a international player that did not support its own self interest? The answer is now. Well I guess that moves Babylon 5 over into the collumn with the dewey eyed give peace a chance types. Look at the facts historically there never has been a great nation/empire that has not been warlike. When that nation or peoples cease being warlike they cease existing too. War is horrible yes but the other option (cease to exist as a people) is worse. Just ask the city fathers of Carthage or the Catherien's (sp) of France. A modern example is France. Look at pre WW1 army of France the best in the world and about 10 or so years ago the top comandos of france were defeated by a locked door on a green peace ship.

Sorry about summer.

Re: Edmund's comment on the Jeanne Cavelos interview...

When was this interview? I used the search feature and all I get is Show #62 and the Books post... was it on another Farpoint podcast? If so, which one and which episode? I'd like to hear what she had to say...

I really enjoyed the Technomage trilogy, perhaps moreso that the Psi Corps trilogy (sorry Tim!)

RE: WMD

You touched briefly on the Centauri WMD's allegedly aboard their ships. Did anyone else notice that they were quite specific when they described them: They were, of course, (allegedly) Mass Drivers!

Were they the same Mass Drivers that bombed the Narn homeworld back to the stone age? I wonder...
