Ivanova and Lochley together?

Posted 2008-04-04 4:57 am in General by Jim C

Not quite. But the two women who ran Babylon 5 while Sheridan took care of other business are considering a project together. Claudia Christian has posted this. (You must register for a free login to access this part of Claudia’s website.)

I had dinner with Tracy Scoggins last night and we have decided to finally fulfill a long time dream of ours……to work together!

We have some terrific ideas but would love your input and feedback.

Anyone interested in letting us in on what you think can go to my forum on www.claudiachristian.net. There you will find a forum called “Claudia’s Place” and in that you will find the section “Claudia Wants to Know”. That is where you can discuss what you would like to see. I will have questions there that you can answer and you will have the opportunity to tell me what you think!

Tracy and I look forward to hearing your ideas.

“Thanks folks and here’s to the future!”

Babylon Podcast: Show #106

Posted 2008-04-02 10:00 am in Shows, Year 3 by Summer

Welcome to Show #106!

Tim, Jeffrey and Michael geek over some of the latest space flight news, and lament over the lack of space flight and space news coverage on the mainstream news.

Tim also lets us know that March 26 is the both Jesus Treviño’s and Ed Wasser’s birthdays.

Feedbackapalooza: Lots of voicemail and email. We answer and discuss.

Your feedback does matter, and is welcome! You can call us at 206-338-2259, or email us and tell us what you think… and likely hear it played or read on the show. Please try to keep the voicemail comments as brief as possible.

Second Life Info: FarPoint Media’s castle is at http://slurl.com/secondlife/beraudes/203/151/49.

Babylon 5 Information Gathering: If you know of a dead or abandoned B5 related website that may be in need of a new home, let Summer know! Maybe we can mirror it here or house it on a sister site.

Summer is still looking for one more of the long versions of the B5 promos that ran on TNT prior to Season 5, the ones narrated by Keith David… anyone have any old VHS copies of S5 they taped from TNT? Specifically, the :30 spots, one featuring Ivanova and the other G’Kar… they were part of the series of ads TNT ran promoting the addition of B5 to their lineup. We have a copy of the G’Kar one, now we’re holding out that someone out there has the Ivanova one!

It was the last of the JMS Babylon 5 script books…..

Posted 2008-03-30 10:18 am in General, books by Gary

Volume 14 is now available for order @ http://www.babylon5scripts.com/

The scripts included are “The Wheel of Fire”, “Objects in Motion”, “Objects at Rest”, and “In The Beginning”

You’ll also get a replica of the highlights of J. Michael Straczynski’s Producer’s Notebook for “In the Beginning. Volume 14 is also packed with other goodies, including the opening narration credit voice-over scripts, more exclusive photos and an appendix for the script books, and much more.

Short of having JMS visit your home, and explaining how it all happened, you won’t find a better resource.

Production of the script books is due to end in May, so please don’t hesitate any longer.

Now is the time to act!

Special Reminder:

JMS will be personally signing every copy of Volume 15.

The only way to get volume 15 is if you purchase all 14 books. You must purchase volumes 1-13 plus buy 14 to get volume 15 and if you haven’t bought them from Cafe Press you need to pay the “reasonable” price of $562.06.

Volume 15 will also include the Babylon 5 writer’s bible, a breakdown of the entire 5 year story arc, with Sinclair, a detailed analysis of cut and altered scenes between the scripts and the episodes.

To see all the goodies included in volume 15 go to http://www.babylon5scripts.com/vol15.htm

Thanks to Summer and Jim Carr for helping with this post.

More from the Vorlon Homeworld

Posted 2008-03-26 11:28 am in behind the shower curtain by Tim

Jeffrey has been kind enough to dip into his archives for some wonderful behind-the-scenes photos.

This week’s shot is Jeffrey with stand-in Anita Brabeck in Delenn’s Suite. Here, Jeffrey shows his true geek credentials: “Look at me! I’m sitting next to a real girl!”

Babylon Podcast: Show #105

Posted 2008-03-26 10:00 am in Shows, Year 3 by Summer

Welcome to Show #105!

Tim and Summer travel to the Vorlon Homeworld to record this week’s show! That’s right… there was no live feed last week because Jeffrey’s studio isn’t set up to feed out to the streaming servers… and the chat room was really antsy about missing their fix.

We’re going to have to try to fix that, aren’t we?

Deep Geeking: This week, Tim and Summer discuss “And the Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place”, and the intrigues undertaken by Londo regarding G’Kar and Lord Refa, a boost in morale from messages from the Resistance on Earth relayed by several visiting religious dignitaries, and Sheridan and Delenn discovered the method behind the madness that the Shadow attacks that have been plaguing the sector for the past few weeks.

Jeffrey adds some background on William Forward’s portrayal of Lord Refa, and the good-natured banter between Mel Winkler and Louis Turenne.

Luckily, there was no carrying on cranky this week!

Listener Feedback: Mitch O sent an email saying that Jerry Doyle made a unannounced appearance at Megacon in Orlando 2 weekends ago, and said that Michael O’Hare was gravely ill. Tim couldn’t find any supporting info online, but Jeff’s going to try to find out for sure.

Lowell wonders if B5 will show up on The WB’s new online web programming, but B5 was technically pre-WB Network, so it’s unlikely, but we’d love to be happily surprised!

Upcoming Interviews: Jeffrey proposes a new interview format: we tell you who’s coming up, and you send us questions to ask them! In two weeks, our guest will be co-producer George Johnsen! Send in your questions for George, and we’ll get them aired! Send in an email or voicemail with your questions for George!

Your feedback does matter, and is welcome! You can call us at 206-338-2259, or email us and tell us what you think… and likely hear it played or read on the show. Please try to keep the voicemail comments as brief as possible.

Babylon Podcast: Show #104

Posted 2008-03-19 1:00 pm in Shows, Year 3 by Summer

Welcome to Show #104!

Tim and Summer get all excited about this week’s show, but once again Jeffrey can’t join us. We’re really starting to miss the Vorlon, especially his insight on how occassionally recurring characters are handled in terms of scheduling and possible double-bookings.

Babylon 5 is now on Joost. Go watch!

Deep Geeking: Tim and Summer geek on “Grey 17 is Missing”, and the consensus is that half the episode is amazing, in terms of story, future implications, and charged emotional situations, and the other half is… well, I think even after 10 years we’re still trying to figure that out.

Listener Feedback: Gene from Greenville wonders if the Minbari Civil War might have gone longer if JMS had known sooner that the 5th season was secure; Jeremy in Denver has listened to the first 100 Babylon Podcast episodes over the past two months in order to catch up, and comments on seeing aspects of B5 Season 1 from a different perspective.

Your feedback does matter, and is welcome! You can call us at 206-338-2259, or email us and tell us what you think… and likely hear it played or read on the show. Please try to keep the voicemail comments as brief as possible.

Babylon Podcast: Show #103

Posted 2008-03-12 2:00 pm in Shows, Year 3 by Summer

Welcome to Show #103!

With the Vorlon away, the geeks will play.

Deep Geeking: Edmund joins Tim and Summer for episode geeking this week, covering “Walkabout”, a bridge episode that packs a lot of punch in some areas and that seems to fall off pace in others (in Summer’s opinion, anyway).

We see Dr Franklin, hanging around in Down-Below, searching for something, but not quite sure yet. What he finds for a time could be a reflection of his own situation, or something else entirely. Then we meet the replacement Vorlon ambassador, and Lyta returns to the station, to resume her duties with the new Vorlon, desperate to find out what happened to Kosh, and volunteers for a field trip on the White Star.

Isn’t life just a little more interesting with telepaths on board?

Babylon Podcast: Show #102

Posted 2008-03-05 7:00 am in Shows, Year 3 by Summer

Welcome to Show #102!

Yes, we recorded a new Season 3 intro, to lessen the confusion about what we really meant by “it failed”, and since JMS made some exciting announcements at Wondercon 2008, the joke became moot.

John Warner, Key Grip
(L to R) Jeffrey Willerth, Key Grip John Warner, Gaffer John Smith

Interview: John Warner, Best Boy and Key Grip on Babylon 5, joins us to talk about his time on set, and making sure everyone’s lit correctly and all the cameras move where they need to, and manipulation of the sets.

So head on down to your nearest production, and if it’s safe to get into the studio, go hug a key grip for all that they do.

Then we talk about what you can find in Second Life as far as FarPoint Media and Babylon Podcast goodies, and traverse a small tangent into Technorama level tech geeking. Fear not, it loops back to B5 related chat at the end.

Second Life Info: FarPoint Media’s castle is at http://slurl.com/secondlife/beraudes/203/151/49.
