Welcome to Show #25!

Tim and Summer dive deep into episode discussion again with “Eyes” and “Legacies”.

“Eyes”
In “Eyes”, the political backlash from some of Commander Sinclair’s command decisions come home to roost, in the form of an official Internal Investigation. Colonel Ari Ben-Zayn intends to probe the current command staff to test their loyalties and their protocols as a means to put himself in command of the station, but his vindictive power play backfires, thanks to the integrity of his reluctant assistant, a Psi Corps operative named Harriman Gray. And yes, we talk about the Kawasaki Ninja. Za ba ga bee.

“Legacies”
In “Legacies”, the discovery of a burgeoning new telepath puts Ivanova and Talia at odds with each other, and relations between Earth and the Minbari become strained when the body of a respected Minbari Warleader disappears while on a stopover at the station. We see in Susan and Talia how deeply ingrained their passions for Psi Corps run, in the lengths they’ll try to go in order to get the new telepath’s choice to fall their way, and we meet Neroon for the first time.

Listener Feedback: Tim, Summer and Jeff address more than a few listener emails and comments that want to know all about The Vorlon: Tim reads emails from Shelly asking how Jeff made Kosh glide so well; Edmund has comments on negotiation tactics used in “By Any Means Necessary”; Jack is curious about Vorlon motivations to get involved with humans; and Jim wants to know what Vorlons eat.

For voicemails, James in Dallas liked how B5 showed pieces of the characters lives beyond the usual scope, and anticipates us discussing some of his favorite episodes; Chris in Indianapolis lets us know that the podcast is mentioned in Volume 8 of JMS’s Script Books.

Your feedback does matter, and is welcome! You can call us, or email us and tell us what you think… and likely hear it played or read on the show. Please try to keep the voicemail comments as brief as possible.

Loved the episode discussion. Jeffrey Coombs and John Vickery in “Eyes” and “Legacy” are great actors. Coombs turns up all over the place — having done a lot of Star Trek. John Vickery went on to have a long run on Broadway in “Lion King”.

According to a post by JMS, we may be hearing about a new B5 project this weekend at San Diego Comic Con.

Alas, I’m not at Comic-Con either, despite earlier plans to attend.

However, Michael is there, and I’ll see if he can dig up that info for us, maybe we can post it here during the weekend as well ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes JMS indicated in Volume 8 of his B5 scripts that there may be an announcement shortly.

    To quote:-

“Flash Forward to 2006, and I’m in a meeting called by WB to discuss several options on the table about ways to bring back Babylon 5. (As a rule, after B5 finished its run, they called these meetings usually about once every 6 months. Usually nothing came of it… though there may be something of interest from this one to convey in volume 9.)

    We can only hope!

Just finished the podcast and Jeffrey, you naughty, naughty boy! I’m not sure I want to know what goes on under the “shower curtain.”

Seriously though, I hope you did not interpret my question wrong. I was just noticing that the design of the costume looks a little top heavy and would tend to want to move around making walking difficult. Obviously, you are a very skilled actor and I would not want to suggest otherwise.

Love the podcast guys and you can count me as your 6th regular listener. (ha)
