You were after a definition of schmick – the one given here is fairly accurate to my understanding but only the top 2 entries.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=schmick
The main points of that being:
“Descriptive word, usually depecting a person or thing. If referring to a person, theres Lots of confidence, and an aura of almost detachment. In general, Means very suave, very smooth, ultra-cool.”
and
“I say this in Australia to mean anything sick, cool, tight or excellent. Usually the item is new, shiny, fresh and mad bling-bling style.”
so hi tech CGI could definitely be schmick, as is this show’s overall sound quality (go Mike) and Jeffrey might be schmick on a good day.
Hi guys, Thanks for including my voicemails!
As for ‘schmick’ – I didn’t even realise it was Australian slang, it even kind of sounds Yiddish
According to the Urban Dictionary:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=schmick
1. schmick
Descriptive word, usually depecting a person or thing. If referring to a person, theres Lots of confidence, and an aura of almost detachment. In general, Means very suave, very smooth, ultra-cool.
“That guy over there is so schmick”
“My car is totally schmick”
So it’s a good thing
I did mean that the CGI did look ultra slick, cool, very very good, beautiful eye candy
That’s what’s schmick about it.
Looks like i’ll be avoiding the bab podcast for fear of spoliers for the next few months.
For those of us who don’t fly torrent airways, TLT not due out in Australia on DVD until Jan 2008! http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/796070
Irwin, Molokov from AUS tells us that he ordered TLT from Amazon, and it arrived within three weeks. So, maybe there’s an option for you.
Wow, now the Babylon podcast is teaching me vocabulary too
“Hey the Babylon Podcast is really schmick!”
