Welcome to Special Edition #4!
Kurt from The ScapeCast recorded Claudia Christian’s panel at this year’s Dragon*Con, and was kind enough to make it available to share with Babylon Podcast listeners.
Many thanks to Kurt for this, and to Brad from PodCulture for the bang-up editing job!
Enjoy!

An appeal from Pat Tallman (Lyta). Gifts will be delivered to the children on Dec. 12 so please ship any items donated before then. Money can be donated at any time.
We recently kicked off the Be A Santa program at Penny Lane’s fundraising gala. It’s ofï¬cial! We are looking for donations of trees & decorations, and a truck! We are planning the parties. Everyone is getting excited.
We need your help!
This is a very small & personal program. We need everyone to help to make it work. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated!
How you can help…
Who are the Penny Lane kids?
Penny Lane is a family treatment center that cares for the most difï¬cult to manage children with the highest quality care. These kids have been so sexually, emotionally and physically abused, they cannot be placed in regular foster care. We have children from all over California, Nevada and Arizona. The Be A Santa program focuses on the 104 teens in residence in the North Hills main facility and 9 satellite houses.
The Be A Santa program will bring the magic of the Holidays to the Children of the Penny Lane Home for abused Children who would not have a holiday otherwise. We will bring your personal message of caring to these special children. Your much needed Tax Deductible gift or donation will allow us to give or purchase requested Holiday Gifts to the kids, reminding them that people do care about them. Thank you for your support!
Penny Lane is a non proï¬t 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to those youngsters commonly known as the hard-to-place children, providing a safe and congenial, nurturing atmosphere for them as well as transitioning them when ready to the most appropriate environment and integrating them into the community.Your tax deductible donation will help us provide decorations & a holiday dinner, a gift bag of goodies including a gift card to the Westï¬eld Mall for as much $ as I can give them. We divide what we take in amongst the 104 kids. Last year we were able to give each child a $65 dollar card! Thanks to you!
All Angels, Santas and Elves are needed and greatly appreciated!
Because of you, these kids have a real Holiday!!!
Sincerely,
Patricia Tallman

Since today is a travel day for a lot of people heading off for Thanksgiving gatherings, there will not be a recording session at the studio today, and as a result, no live feed going out tonight.
For those who also listen to the Slice of SciFi live feed on Thursday nights, or to Wingin’ It 3-D live feeds on Saturday afternoons, there won’t be any recording sessions for those shows this week, either.
Enjoy the holiday, those who celebrate, and enjoy a good night’s sleep, those in other parts of the world who usually stay up late to listen.
Welcome to Show #91!
Tim, Summer and Jeffrey chat about Thanksgiving, turkeys, turducken, and holiday recording schedules. And for some reason, the tangents ruled this open.
B5 Audio Drama: The Three-Edged Sword Episode 19: “The Die is Cast” (TS: 9:00-14:58) What you’re hearing here on The Babylon Podcast is just a small part of the story… the full audio drama can be heard at Voices of Babylon, so what are you waiting for? Head over and check them out!
Deep Geeking: “Severed Dreams”. All Geeking, All the Time.
Apologies ahead of time for the audio quality for the Deep Geeking… there was a studio malfunction, resulting in the loss of ALL of the discussion about “Severed Dreams” (and you thought we were kidding about the helpful donations).
Jeffrey actually sticks around for the geeking on this episode, and adds some anecdotes from his time on the set during the filming.
Between witnessing hostilities between EAS forces, seeing the B5 command staff take stand and pick a side in the battle that’s been building around them for well over a year, discovering how fine a line ISN has been standing on since the first rumors that Clark was involved with Santiago’s death, Delenn’s confrontation and dissolution of the Grey Council, and the heated battle between the station and Clark’s forces and the intervention by the Minbari, the show truly embodies what’s built up since the end of Season 1: “Nothing’s the same anymore.”
Jeffrey taunts us by letting us know that he still has Hugo screeners for this episode.
Babylon 5 Information Gathering: Can we and should we mount a Babylon 5 propaganda campaign, in order to get sales of The Lost Tales to the point where Warner really really wants to greelight more volumes of TLT? Let us know…
Also, if you know of a dead or abandoned B5 related website that may be in need of a new home, let Summer know!
Summer still wants to find the long versions of the B5 promos that ran on TNT prior to Season 5, the ones narrated by Keith David… anyone have any old VHS copies of S5 they taped from TNT? Specifically, the :30 spots, one featuring Ivanova and the other G’Kar… they were part of the series of ads TNT ran promoting the addition of B5 to their lineup.
Yes, we really are still working out logistics on the Jerseys. We’ll keep you posted on when you can place your pre-order!
Your feedback does matter, and is welcome! You can call us at 206-338-2259, or email us and tell us what you think… and likely hear it played or read on the show. Please try to keep the voicemail comments as brief as possible.
Shameless related begging: There’s a box of Babylon 5 novels sitting here, books that were rescued from unknown fates at used bookstores in his area by Brad from the PodCulture podcast. The B5 library collection grows… if you have a request, send it in.

Welcome to Show #89 #90!
Show notes: We’re in a terrible rush.
Deep Geeking: Tim and Summer talk about “Point of No Return”. Following up right where the previous episode left off, the action and intrigue doesn’t stop. Prophetic visions, political and military manuevering, and a rollicking brawl.
Listener Feedback: We discuss the voicemails and emails you keep sending in. Keep sending them!

As mentioned by Tim in this week’s show, the Kosh for President campaign has some competition as a couple of formidable tickets have thrown their hats into the ring. The folks over at b5scripts.com and cafepress.com have enlisted Londo and G’Kar under the banner of “How much worse could it be?” They seem to have the support of JMS, but that may not be exactly what it appears. The two ambassadors offer a flexible approach to governing, promising on their website, “Should the electorate find themselves not happy with the slate as elected, whoever is in second position will gladly assassinate the other in order to bring about a referendum.” Between Londo’s oratorical flair and G’Kar’s well-known appeal to the fairer sex, the Vorlon will have to manipulate, I mean, sway, many minds to come out on top.
Analysts are unsure what effect the third ticket will have on the election. Zathrus and Zathrus have also announced, under the banner of “Zathrus trained in crisis management.” They also promise “in times of economic belt-tightening by electing one Zathras you elect all Zathras, nine for the price of the One.”
More on both campaigns, along with ways to show your choice, are available here.

Welcome to Show #89!
Have you ever seen a Babylon 5 character when you were out trick-or-treating? Discuss.
Deep Geeking: Tim and Summer talk about “Messages from Earth”. This is the first episode of the emotional roller-coaster that doesn’t really come to a close until the end of Season 4. THIS is what we love the most.
From Marcus rescuing Dr Mary Kirkish so she can tell the story of Earth’s previously unknown involvement with Shadow technology, to Sheridan’s decision to destroy the newly found Shadow ship on Ganymede, and the resulting encounter with the EAS Agammemnon and President Clark’s declaration of martial law… this is one episode that bears much on it’s story shoulders, and carries it all very well.
B5 Audio Drama: The Three-Edged Sword Episode 18: “Thinking Ahead” (TS: 43:46-49:45) What you’re hearing here on The Babylon Podcast is just a small part of the story… the full audio drama can be heard at Voices of Babylon, so what are you waiting for? Head over and check them out!
