This is just a heads-up for all of our faithful listeners.
There won’t be a new show on July 26, but we’ll be back in full force on August 2.
In the meantime, catch up on the last 4 episodes of Season 1, if you haven’t already done so, and make sure all of your friends know about our little show here, and subscribe!
Welcome to Show #25!
Tim and Summer dive deep into episode discussion again with “Eyes” and “Legacies”.
In “Eyes”, the political backlash from some of Commander Sinclair’s command decisions come home to roost, in the form of an official Internal Investigation. Colonel Ari Ben-Zayn intends to probe the current command staff to test their loyalties and their protocols as a means to put himself in command of the station, but his vindictive power play backfires, thanks to the integrity of his reluctant assistant, a Psi Corps operative named Harriman Gray. And yes, we talk about the Kawasaki Ninja. Za ba ga bee.

In “Legacies”, the discovery of a burgeoning new telepath puts Ivanova and Talia at odds with each other, and relations between Earth and the Minbari become strained when the body of a respected Minbari Warleader disappears while on a stopover at the station. We see in Susan and Talia how deeply ingrained their passions for Psi Corps run, in the lengths they’ll try to go in order to get the new telepath’s choice to fall their way, and we meet Neroon for the first time.

Listener Feedback: Tim, Summer and Jeff address more than a few listener emails and comments that want to know all about The Vorlon: Tim reads emails from Shelly asking how Jeff made Kosh glide so well; Edmund has comments on negotiation tactics used in “By Any Means Necessary”; Jack is curious about Vorlon motivations to get involved with humans; and Jim wants to know what Vorlons eat.
For voicemails, James in Dallas liked how B5 showed pieces of the characters lives beyond the usual scope, and anticipates us discussing some of his favorite episodes; Chris in Indianapolis lets us know that the podcast is mentioned in Volume 8 of JMS’s Script Books.
Your feedback does matter, and is welcome! You can call us at 206-338-2259, or email us and tell us what you think… and likely hear it played or read on the show. Please try to keep the voicemail comments as brief as possible.

Thomas in Flagstaff emails us with heads-up about a post he came across today at BoingBoing.net:
Metal armour stiletto heels from Babylon 5 by Sword & Stone

They were crafted by Tony Swatton, and Sword & Stone can produce replicas for fans to purchase (6-10 week turnaround, $3000-5000 cost). Also, anyone heading to Comic-Con next weekend can check out their booth.
So, my obvious question is: which episode were these shoes featured in? Honestly, what episode? Tim and I are currently stumped…
Whoa… the shoes have spurs. I don’t wear heels, being a taller gal, but dude… spurs. Who in the B5 ‘verse is a spurs kinda gal?
update, 8:45am: I’m not convinced yet that these were in B5. The shoes aren’t listed in the show credits on their website, but the armor and weapons from “Grail” and the Centauri blades are listed. There aren’t any show or film credits listed for the shoes, and the only B5 reference is in the BoingBoing post. But I’m still willing to be surprised.
Welcome to Show #24!
Guest: Louise Kleeba, NASA Payload Engineer and Babylon 5 fan.

Jeffrey revels in the 4th of July launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery, and continues the glee by introducing Tim and Summer to Louise Kleeba, NASA Payload Engineer and super B5 fan. While the show was still on the air, Louise was not only one of the big fans inside NASA, but she also occassionally consulted on the accuracy and physics of movements in space used in the show.
Listener Feedback: Tim, Summer and Jeff address some of the listener emails and comments: Tim reads emails from Matt in Michigan about “Signs and Portents”; Pavel informs us of Bill Mumy’s radio show at Live365.com; Mike Tuck offers some clarifications on the B5 comics; Rob tells us who Jeremy Clarkson is.
James in Dallas left us a voicemail telling us that he left a donation earmarked for the “Babylon Podcast”; Jonathan in Dallas chastises Tim’s aired opinions on Season 1, and Tim responds.

Welcome to Show #23!
Guest: John Vulich, owner of Optic Nerve Studios
Tim, Summer and Jeffrey chat with John Vulich, owner of the special effects house that created all of the B5 aliens we’ve all come to love.
John tells us about getting involved with the show, with creating the show’s new aliens and refining the ones established in the pilot, about working with the prosthetics to make them less invasive for actors, on designing and creating robotic creatures, and much more. John also tells us a what little he can about NBC’s new Fall series, “Heroes”.
Listener Feedback: Tim, Summer and Jeffrey dive into emails and comments from the blog: Sun comments on technical tidbits in “Survivors”; Matt comments on “By Any Means Necessary” and labor negotiations; Michael lets us know that JMS mentioned the podcast in recent comments published in Volume 8 of the script books.
This week’s voicemail is a message from Ivanova in Wisconsin about the importance of the B5 station in the Shadow War, and how the Shadows may have been more interested in all of the Babylon stations much earlier than demonstrated in the series, and Tim muses on whether they were really responsible for the demise of the first three stations.
Your feedback does matter, and is welcome! You can call us at 206-338-2259, or email us and tell us what you think… and likely hear it played or read on the show. Please try to keep the voicemail comments as brief as possible.
