Wow. I really must’ve irked you guys at some point. Are my VMs just not getting through or something? :-(

  2. Fred Kiesche says:

Not enought forward momentum on “Lensman”? Well, the streets of Hollow-wood are littered with projects that are pining for the fjords. I can think of at least two remakes of “Forbidden Planet” and three remakes of “When Worlds Collide” that never came to pass.

And…even if it is JMS…I’m not sure I want Kimball & Co. up on the screen. Especially if they are “updated”. I’d rather have them play in the cinema of the mind, where I get everything “just right”.

Arkle – yes, I am irked. So irked. Irked beyond belief. Irked at Ark. le. No, the problem is that I tend to be lazy and don’t harvest voicemails until a month or so has gone by. So inevitably, even with gmail filters in place, I just don’t grab every message sent. Nothing personal. I think Gary takes a shotgun approach to calling in, to make sure at least one message makes the cut.

Fred – I think – hope – believe – that JMS would “update” the Lensman saga without “modernizing” it. A lot will depend on the production design as well.

  4. Arkle says:

Fred: The new Predator movie that’s coming out? Robert Rodriguez wrote the script for that in 1994. They don’t call it pre-production hell for nothing.

Wow, thanks for the e-mail read-out. I agree with what was said about the view of Earth’s religions being largely dependant on the observer.

Add me to the list of people who’d love to see B5 remastered, although it would put an end to the game of “spot the impending live action CGI” that you can play on the PAL DVDs. Maybe if we have a whip-round we can drum up enough cash?

You aspoloded my brain with the triluminary talk, I’m afraid.

I guess I better get my arse in gear and buy Crusade otherwise I’m not going to have a clue what you’re talking about before long…

  7. Gary The Great says:

Shotgun approach? How about insightful commentary, or thought provoking questions, or keen observations.

A few more comments like that Mr. Callendar and you might find your fan club down by one member. Kate in Chicagoland will be awfully lonely.

Of course sending in dozens a week does help the jewels to rise to the surface. ;)

  8. Paul Hahn says:

Do note, BTW, that the very first person in line at the end of “The Parliament of Dreams” was an atheist.

I’m pretty sure jms said online at some point that the Triluminaries came from The Great Machine (or at least from the same source), avoiding the paradoxical time loop. If so it’s somewhere on either The Lurker’s Guide, jmsanswers, or in Asked and Answered. I’ll try to look it up and post it here.
