Welcome to Show #185!

Remember kids, be polite. If you can’t say anything nice… well, try to make sure they’re out of earshot first.

Deep Geeking: Tim and Summer discuss “Wheel of Fire”, somewhere in there amidst the many game show inspired puns.

While the public reveal and fallout over Garibaldi’s drinking will have a farther reaching impact amongst the crew and even out to Mars than initally expected when this episode first aired, was it truly breaking ground in terms of the television portrayal of someone struggling with alcoholism beyond the stereotypes built in previous decades?

The same thing with Lise educating Garibaldi on living and life; you can’t make things perfect before moving onto the next thing because otherwise you’ll end up stuck in the same place for a very long time.

We chat about Lyta’s growing power and growing anger, and the beginning of the fallout of her choices to take on Psi Corps head on.

We also learn about the special Tappers Guild, either within the Stuntmen’s Union or as a select subgroup of the Hand Models Assocation. Who knew?

Discussion: Gary just can’t let go of the fact that Tim cannot see beyond his mental blocks around “Day of the Dead”, and gives us another hypothesis, to no avail; Gary wishes everyone in the FarPoint Media universe a happy holiday season and even a festive Chinese New Year; Frank in WV is enjoying the space program updates provided by Jeffrey and Tim.

Neil from Bowie also recommendsSpace Flight Now as another good source for launch info;

And speaking of the Babylon 5 board game, Summer just found an image of a B5 Monopoly board… wish there was a real B5-themed Monopoly game.

And yes, Edmund really did go 60s sitcom on us.

Lurker’s Guide 2.0: Summer is expanding the documentation to be covered at Lurker’s Guide 2.0, the major change being converting the episode guide into a full Wiki with cross-referenced topics, tidbits and everything you’d want in a Wiki. She’s also still searching for pictures of rare collectibles, photos of magazine covers and toys, and all sorts of other B5 goodies that didn’t get included in the original guide during the years after Crusade. Let her know if you want to lend a hand.

    I think Summer was a bit off in this podcast. Time stabilizer damaged. She has become “unstuck” in time.

    That would certainly explain why #186 hasn’t gone in the feed yet. 😉

    Hey Jeffery – Chinese New Year is on Feb 14. Remember that the Chinese are on lunar months.
