Welcome to Show #294!
The full trailer for “Babylon 5: The Road Home” has been released and well received by fans, about everything from the animation style to the choices for voice actors to carry on voicing Delenn, G’Kar, Franklin, and Zathras. Speculations on the story have run rampant, and now, we’re going to add ours!
Discussion:
We debate on the choice of animation for this new B5 project, and Summer wonders how she didn’t see this coming, given WB’s committment to original animated features for the DC properties.
Tim weighs in on his first impressions about the choice for voice actors for Delenn, Zathras and Sinclair, and G’Kar, and despite the small sample size available to us now, he’s mostly satisfied with what we will be seeing.
Summer is curious what exact stories will be explored in the timelines in this movie, and we both hope that this does well enough for WB to greenlight more Babylon 5 animated movies in the future, including some animated Lost Tales.
And Summer is looking forward to the audio commentary. Eagerly!
Yeah, we still love talking about this series!

HOORAY, A NEW EPISODE! Will listen later. Watching Soul Hunter now. Wow, what a blast from the past!
great to hear your voices again. remember fondly your podcast from so many years back.
I personally thought that the actor playing Sinclair didn’t do a bad job, voice not quite as resonant as Michael O’Hares but it was close enough.. G’Kar was the one voice that didn’t really capture the wonderful Andreas Katsulas but then who could.
But this is only a trailer, hopefully with JMS writing it won’t just be the voices but what they say that will bring the characters back to life
Y’all have sent me headfirst into B5 fandom again. I found the eps on Tubi. I’m trying to hold myself to one episode per evening. I also found my book, To Dream in the City of Sorrows and can’t stop reading it. It’s SO GOOD. (And I’m not usually one for fandom novelizations.)
iirc, that one and The Shadow Within were the only ones considered “canon” from that first set of 9 novels. I also think the Centauri trilogy and the Technomage trilogy are a lot easier to find these days, as well as MUCH cheaper than back in the day.
Thanks!
I’m not big on novelizations, either, but “To Dream” and “The Shadow Within” are excellent books…and, don’t forget the PsiCorps and Technomage Trilogies. Fantastic works.
Good to know, thanks!
I looked up, “They’re Made Out of Meat.” It would make sense from their POV to feel that way.
I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or be grossed out or be insulted. I guess it’s a bit of all three, LOL!
Good thing in the real world we are not just “made out of meat.” We have souls and are created in the image of God, and that’s why we’re the way we are.
Hard to believe I’ve been visiting this website for nearly TWENTY FREAKING YEARS!
My copy of B5: TRH arrived yesterday, it was pretty spectacular. I half wondered what the necessary budget would have been if it were in live action. Absolutely loved it, and would relish more of these animated features.
