Welcome to Show #64!

Summer, Tim C and Tim A banter, and gee, I guess you really, really missed me!

Tim C and Summer both managed to score copies of Babylon 5 Script Book Volume 11, thanks to generous contributions from our listeners. It’s a lovely and much appreciated act, and we both truly thank you all.

We will also be receiving a review release of “The Lost Tales” DVD, so we will be providing you with a full review of the film and the DVD contents. Don’t hate us… we’re doing this for you, our listeners!

Deep Geeking: This episode revolves around geeking on “In the Shadow of Z’ha’dum”, a pivotal second season episode that remains a powerful episode to watch even after all these years.

We move from a casual observation that Morden, a dead man, has been seen doing business on the station, through a potential diplomatic rescue by the Centauri, through the borderline alienation of key station personnel, to an intervention by Delenn and Kosh, all to prevent an irate and obssessed Sheridan from breaking Morden and obtaining too much truth too soon about what the Shadows are and what they’re up to.

Listener Feedback: Edmund comments on the Shadows being behind the escalation of the Drazi’s green/purple conflict; Gary from Jacksonville sends a priority Gold Channel request for Summer’s return to the mic; Gary again, with yet another call for a Babylon Podcast Fan Show… Yikes?

Do you want to see any Babylon Podcast swag? If you’re interested in buying FarPoint Media podcast related swag, let us know. I definitely want to use the name “Sunhawks” as the team name for the purple and green Babylon Podcast football jerseys.

I don’t know think it would be a licensing infringement for using the name, but use of any Drazi logo probably would be. I’m still trying to find out who to talk to about that.

Your feedback does matter, and is welcome! You can call us, or email us and tell us what you think… and likely hear it played or read on the show. Please try to keep the voicemail comments as brief as possible.

There’s a box of Babylon 5 novels sitting here, books that were rescued from unknown fates at used bookstores in his area by Brad from PodCulture. The B5 library collection grows… if you have a request, send it in.

I have to say I’m not entirely happy with the official “boohkie” spelling. I personally feel that only “bouhqy” sufficiently captures the exotic beauty of the Farpoint Tag.

#1 – I could go for some swag. You should get a t-shirt made with the Earth force symbol on the front with the stat bar under it, and on the back the podcast symbol.

#2 – A fan show would be cool, you could call it “Amateur Night at the Zocalo”

#3 – If Mike “has always been here”… does that mean there is the something like “In the shadow of Evo”

And yet we’re still no closer to actually finding out what “boohkie” means. 😕 A quick Google search just turned up this page and somebody’s MySpace account…

Oh, and I’m definitely in favor of an Amateur Night for the B5 Podcast. 🙂

For everything bouhqy (or boohkie if you prefer) go to http://www.jarsto.nl/bouhqy/ download the file you find there and listen to it.

    You know you’re a B5 junkie when:

As soon as Tim mentioned “the scene with Vir and Morden” I lifted my hand and waved… like this!

    waves fingers in Vir-like manner

In the scene were Talia slaps Sheraton, note the extra at the back of the set. He jumps at the sound of the slap.

For B5 swag, how about “Shadow” and “Vorlon” jerseys?

I’m voting for the purple and green ones, but to make it even more entertaining, have them alternate out fulfillment with green/purple so you don’t know what you get until the mail comes 🙂

I think that’d be a little bit more tracking work than should be necessary for an online shop, and the less manual intervention needed, I think the easier (and more smoothly and accurately) the order fulfillment would be.

t-shirts with the album art show logo on them may also be a possibility.

I’m sure there’s a logoist out there who could do something with the drazi “diamond”… the one on the forehead. 😉

    There’s a good pic at Wayne Alexander’s website: http://www.waynealexander.com/gallery/gallery.htm

I would like to see some swag like bumper stickers or window decals. Something we could display proudly. I would go for the green and purple jersey. Once or twice a year include, with one of them, a sash.

I am not so sure I want to see an amateur show. We already saw how far down hill the show can go when Summer is not there. I am not sure I want to risk what would happen with all amateurs.
