Dylan Neal joins us to talk about portraying Ranger David Martell on LEGEND OF THE RANGERS, working on CAPTAIN POWER, and with Bruce Boxleitner on THE GOURMET DETECTIVE series.
He talks about his experience in joining the Babylon 5 universe as a proposed new leading man, working with the more-established actors in the production, recounting the fun of playing in a science fiction set, and more.
David also talks about acting, and working to put together a program to teach acting, and how to work with directors and set designers and the entire team of people working on a television or film project. He also recounts working with Bruce Boxleitner on a handful on projects on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and working with his wife Becky Southwell on production projects, and also her continuing work on fiction novels.
Afterwards, Tim and Summer dive deeply into what LEGEND OF THE RANGERS means nearly 25 years later, given some of the subsequent changes to the B5 universe that unfolded after (THE LOST TALES and THE ROAD HOME). The internal chronology of the universe also throws a few wrenches into the bigger picture where LEGEND OF THE RANGERS is concerned. We also disagree on the planetary origin of the Liandra… is it a Minbari ship, or did it come from another alien world/race?
We then wander into a tangent talking about the chronology of the franchise, and a few of the things that still annoy our sense of continuity. And yeah, we still want to see The Telepath War in some media form or another.
