Welcome to Show #226!

Tim and Summer fret over how late we are in getting our Season 6 open done, and we really do hope that Gary’s on the case, and we actually get Bret to sing for us!

Deep Geeking: Tim, Summer and Bret chat about “Visitors from Down the Street”, an episode filled with snark and more than wink and nod towards The X-Files.

Time has changed Tim’s perception of this episode, and now Bret wishes he’d done his homework and watched it!

And where do captains of deep space exploration vessels get their supply of Hawaiian shirts? Inquiring minds want to know…

Feedback: Tim dives into the emails a bit: Natalie wants to know more about Minbari headbones, and whether they are groomed or hereditary; Edmund wants to know if we’re definitely planning on bringing Peter David onto the podcast to discuss his story contributions to the B5/Crusade universe (which leads to a discussion about how cool and how difficult it’d be to get Daniel Dae Kim on for a Crusade chat)

Muse on this: is the Ulkesh costume more reminiscent of a whiskey decanter or a Pez dispenser? Discuss.

Lurker’s Guide 2.0: Summer is expanding the documentation to be covered at Lurker’s Guide 2.0, the major change being converting the episode guide into a full Wiki with cross-referenced topics, tidbits and everything you’d want in a Wiki. She’s still searching for pictures of rare collectibles, photos of magazine covers and toys, and all sorts of other B5 goodies that didn’t get included in the original guide during the years after Crusade. Let her know if you want to lend a hand.

More Parody/Filk Songs Wanted: If you know of any more B5-related fan songs out there, definitely let us know, so we can let other B5 fans know where to buy them! And if those CDs are out of print, let’s brainstorm on ways to get those songs back out there for fans!

Hey Edmund, you were at the David/Gerrold panel too? I was there. I was the guy who Peter David pointed at, but didn’t get to ask his question because the moderator told us we had to clear the room.

Driving into town the other night, I saw this view from the road, and immediately thought of Kosh. This episode made me wonder if JMS had planned to have some Vorlon involvement in Crusade. Maybe leftover tech or something that remained.

I might have to re-watch this episodes, because I remember hating it due to the end which I thought was with the bad guys winning. I might have gotten this mixed up with another Crusade episode. All seem to bleed together.

    Great Scott Batman!
Have you forgotten that the religious cast Minbari carve their headbones into the shapes they have. Sure, I guess there is some genetics involved, some are naturally bigger and more horned, but JMS have stated that the religious cast do carve them down. Im quite sure you guys have mentioned it on the show as well, but you probably have become so carried away with Crusade that you have forgotten.

    All the best!

Did anyone else notice that the planet where they dropped the probes (in Visitors from Down the Street) had a continent that looked just like North America, down to the Great Lakes?

I finally got to see this episode! I am a huge XF fan, so I was cracking up and enjoyed it greatly.
