Family of Jeff Conaway decides to terminate life support

Family of Jeff Conaway decides to terminate life support

May 26, 2011 by Tim

Jeff Conaway as Zack Allen
I haven’t yet posted any news on Jeff Conaway’s condition, mostly because I didn’t want the Babcast to seem like those nasty celeb gossip sites. But Fox 411 Entertainment News quotes a site called Radar Online with this news: Jeff’s family has decided to terminate life support.

We are saddened that Jeff’s battles with his personal demons overwhelmed a talented actor. Of course, all the reports mention Grease and Taxi. We will remember him for his portrayal of an average workaday man caught up in the wave of history.

Unfortunately Jeff finally passed away this morning. And JMS did confirm that the famile did take him off life support. So sad.:(

I was hoping and wishing that it wouldn’t end like this – this is truly saddening news. I loved his portrayal of Zack Allan – and I’m also selfishly sad that there will now be no more. RIP – and thank you.

I saw him on that horrible reality show and cringed. None of the sources I saw that reported the death mentioned B5. Years of good work were ignored to promote the salacious recounting of his miserable decline: “Jeff Conaway, best known for his roles in the 70s’ hit television series “Taxi” and blockbuster film “Grease,” died at an Encino hospital in southern California Friday morning.” (LA Times) Best known? Maybe I’m wearing blinders here, but Taxi? And not even a mention of B5?

    Cheers!

“A 1994-98 stint in the sci-fi TV series “Babylon 5” as security chief Zack Allan proved successful, but it was followed by only scattered roles on stage, in films and TV shows.”
