JMS is doing an impromptu Q&A on Twitter right now, so I thought I’d paste some of them in an email for you – pick the most interesting ones to talk about on the show, if you like 🙂

any new projects in the B5 Universe in the works?
A: That’s a far more interesting question than you might imagine…but
I can’t talk about it at the moment.

Which comic (any company) would you like to take a stab at someday?
A: I don’t want to stab anyone. But I’d love to do something with the
Haunted Tank one of these days.

Which B5 character’s story do you wish you’d gotten to tell more fully?
A: Probably Lorien.

Will we see another tabletop rpg set in the Babylon 5 universe?
A: There is no licensing currently going on for B5.

When do you expect the next Superman: Earth One book to be out?
A: It’ll be out either in the spring or if DC wants a big event in the
fall, may bring it out then, I’ve been told.

How is the Lensman adaptation going?
A: On the shelf at Universal which isn’t sure there’s enough name
value to the title to merit the massive investment to do it right

If someone had a fresh take on Babylon 5, would you give the belssing
for a reboot?
A: No, not at this stage. Perhaps later, when I’m old and
enfeebled…well, that would be next week….

What is next for the Babylon 5 Universe and when will we see it?
A: More at a later time when I can talk about it. Answer unclear,

A: When all parties have said it’s okay.

Any plans for con appearances in the near future aside from SDCC?
A: No just doing SDCC for now, though I got a notice the other day
that the people handling jury duty want an appearance

Okay, got one that I’ve always wondered. What is the thing dangling in
the middle of the triluminary? Looks like a microchip.
A: Is this another penis question? (It’s a chip, correct, from a very
early piece of Minbari tech, passed down the line.)
Q: @Nihilam Wait. The microchip wasn’t part of Sinclair’s Link? So
much was said about those being tied to the DNA of the user …
A: And where did Sinclair end UP? he asked, leading the witness.

Any opinions on modern Doctor Who and Torchwood?
A: Haven’t seen the new Torchwood, think the new Doctor is doing a bang-up job.

I love Midnight Nation, it’s one of my favorite comics of all time. Is
there plans of a feature film?
A: In my copious spare time I’ve been working on spec’ing the project
out as a feature.

Speaking of Midnight Nation, any plans on collaborating with Gary Frank again?
A: Would love to work with Gary Frank again, now that the Bad Touching
incident is behind us. (Which oddly is where it happened)

Given how TV has changed since 1993, with lots of shows w/ongoing
stories etc, how would B5 be different if you made it now?
A: That’s not a tweet-reply, that’s a dissertation. It’s not just the
tech, I’m not the same writer, so it would be very different

which book would you take with you to a desert island?
A: A book on raft-building.

Which writer(s) are you enjoying currently?
A: Always love Neil Gaiman’s work, end up watching Buffy late at
night, doing a lot of nonfiction reading just now.

Which is accurate: stra-chin-ski or stra-zin-ski?
A: after the first syllable, it really doesn’t matter, except that
saying it backwards will open a fifth dimensional gate.

would you ever return to making weekly television again?
A: Under the right conditions, yes. More on this later.

what job in the last six months did you hate having to turn down (be
vague if you need to be)?
A: Big huge movie, big director, big budget franchise, but just not a
character I could relate to. More would be indiscreet
