Courtesy of Danny, here are some of the questions JMS fielded during his Twitter Q&A session a few weeks ago:
Hi Tim, Summer, Bret,
JMS is doing an impromptu Q&A on Twitter right now, so I thought I’d paste some of them in an email for you – pick the most interesting ones to talk about on the show, if you like 🙂
@straczynski
Okay, impromptu press conference time: will take (and try to answer)
all questions in the next 20 minutes, basically until 7:15. And….go!
@straczynski
No question is too stupid, unless it’s one of mine, so the odds there
are pretty good.
Q: @WxManShane Shane Smith
any new projects in the B5 Universe in the works?
A: That’s a far more interesting question than you might imagine…but
I can’t talk about it at the moment.
Q: @thsuing T.H. Suing
Which comic (any company) would you like to take a stab at someday?
A: I don’t want to stab anyone. But I’d love to do something with the
Haunted Tank one of these days.
Q: @RedPenOfDoom Andrew Hackard
Which B5 character’s story do you wish you’d gotten to tell more fully?
A: Probably Lorien.
Q: @EricMPaq Eric Paquette
Will we see another tabletop rpg set in the Babylon 5 universe?
A: There is no licensing currently going on for B5.
Q: @KazeSGFX Stephen Kelly
When do you expect the next Superman: Earth One book to be out?
A: It’ll be out either in the spring or if DC wants a big event in the
fall, may bring it out then, I’ve been told.
Q: @upandcomic JM Rivas
How is the Lensman adaptation going?
A: On the shelf at Universal which isn’t sure there’s enough name
value to the title to merit the massive investment to do it right
Q: @War_of_Kings Mark Andrew Croft
If someone had a fresh take on Babylon 5, would you give the belssing
for a reboot?
A: No, not at this stage. Perhaps later, when I’m old and
enfeebled…well, that would be next week….
Q: @mikeydog Michael Stone
What is next for the Babylon 5 Universe and when will we see it?
A: More at a later time when I can talk about it. Answer unclear,
please try again – Magic 8 Ball
Q: @mikeydog Michael Stone
Not to get all child-like (about to) but any estimate on when you will
be able to talk about it? (Babylon 5)
A: When all parties have said it’s okay.
Q: @EsoPhoenix Chris’ World
why is the sky blue? xD
A: Because I said so. Now finish your broccoli or you can’t go out and
play with the other kids.
Q: @Thenatet Nate Thielmann
how big is your penis? Thick and long?
A: Congressman, seriously, you have to stop this….
A: That would be telling.
A: PS best to your mom.
Q: @incompletesong Monica Hurley
Any plans for con appearances in the near future aside from SDCC?
A: No just doing SDCC for now, though I got a notice the other day
that the people handling jury duty want an appearance
Q: @Drek Tim Jump
Okay, got one that I’ve always wondered. What is the thing dangling in
the middle of the triluminary? Looks like a microchip.
A: Is this another penis question? (It’s a chip, correct, from a very
early piece of Minbari tech, passed down the line.)
Q: @Nihilam Wait. The microchip wasn’t part of Sinclair’s Link? So
much was said about those being tied to the DNA of the user …
A: And where did Sinclair end UP? he asked, leading the witness.
Q: @2minutetimelord That Chip Guy
Any opinions on modern Doctor Who and Torchwood?
A: Haven’t seen the new Torchwood, think the new Doctor is doing a bang-up job.
Q: @RAZLoki Jeff Loki Collier
any new scripts you’re working on?
A: Yes.
Q: @Alex_Chung Alex Chung
I love Midnight Nation, it’s one of my favorite comics of all time. Is
there plans of a feature film?
A: In my copious spare time I’ve been working on spec’ing the project
out as a feature.
Q: @Alex_Chung Alex Chung
Speaking of Midnight Nation, any plans on collaborating with Gary Frank again?
A: Would love to work with Gary Frank again, now that the Bad Touching
incident is behind us. (Which oddly is where it happened)
Q: @DavidLC11 David Cornette
Given how TV has changed since 1993, with lots of shows w/ongoing
stories etc, how would B5 be different if you made it now?
A: That’s not a tweet-reply, that’s a dissertation. It’s not just the
tech, I’m not the same writer, so it would be very different
Q: @andy_herbert Andy Herbert
which book would you take with you to a desert island?
A: A book on raft-building.
Q: @thsuing T.H. Suing
Which writer(s) are you enjoying currently?
A: Always love Neil Gaiman’s work, end up watching Buffy late at
night, doing a lot of nonfiction reading just now.
Q: @whconn Bill Conn
Which is accurate: stra-chin-ski or stra-zin-ski?
A: after the first syllable, it really doesn’t matter, except that
saying it backwards will open a fifth dimensional gate.
Q: @DavidLC11 David Cornette
would you ever return to making weekly television again?
A: Under the right conditions, yes. More on this later.
Q: @RJRHQ R.J. RYAN
what job in the last six months did you hate having to turn down (be
vague if you need to be)?
A: Big huge movie, big director, big budget franchise, but just not a
character I could relate to. More would be indiscreet
Q: @skiskamp Stephen Kiskamp
Do you think TNT believes viewers are smart enough not to be led by
the nose on SF series premier? #FallingStars << #Crusade
A: TNT now is much smarter than TNT then.
Q: @War_of_Kings Mark Andrew Croft
Any franchises (TV, Movies, or books) you would like to take a crack at?
A: Love to do a spy thriller someday.
Q: @jch132 jeff hughes
#babylon5 newbie. Been told I can't skip ahead. I've seen first 1 1/2
seasons on @netflix and want to skip to 3. What say you?
A: If I've suffered through it, by god you need to suffer through it.
Q: @scifantasy Will Frank
Is there any interest in, or possibility of, releasing the B5 novels
as ebooks? Or is that outside of your sphere of authority?
A: Outside my purview, a company would have to license it from WB.
(My Question!)
Q: @molokov_au Danny
What's the favourite thing you never got to do in 'Crusade'?
A: The rest of it.
Q: @DavidLC11 David Cornette
if @steven_moffat asked you to write an episode of Dr Who, would you
be interested?
A: Who do I have to kill? (I have suggestions if you don't.)
Q: @jasonbondshow John Hill
What would have happened to the Rangers if the Legends of the Rangers
movie had led to a series?
A: It would have been really, really cool.
Q: @DavidLC11 David Cornette
what is you favorite medium to write for: TV, film, comics, prose, audio play?
A: all of the above, for different reasons.
Q: @JeffreyWilliams JeffreyWilliams
iPhone, Android, Blackberry … which are you?
A: I'm an android who uses an iphone in the garden to help find blackberries.
Q: @EricMPaq Eric Paquette
What are your hobbies?
A: Playing with my cat. Other than that, I got nothing.
Q: @dizzheart dizzheart
You pretty much began the idea of US TV series with preplanned
beginning, middle & end. Does anyone ever thank you?
A: No. You'd think someone would send flowers, wouldn't you?
Q: @RedPenOfDoom Andrew Hackard
What's the biggest lie people believe about the B5 story? (maybe one
you've never revealed as a lie before…?)
A: That I actually exist.
Q: @ohlookitsMatty Matty
So, what do you do for a living, when you're not on twitter?
A: i rite four a living. i rite gud. how is drug biznis working out for yu?
Q: @scifimom1 Beverley Taylor
what is the next big writing project going to be about?
A: Can't tell…these things are always classified….
Q: @beckythecyclist Becky
Totally off the wall question – what's your favorite lunch?
A: I write until 4 a.m. daily, get up around noon, so my favorite
lunch is dinner.
@straczynski JMichael Straczynski
Aaaaaaaaaaaand the phones are closed now, thanks to everyone for
taking part. You can collect your towels and sandals on the way out.

Very Cool. I missed that twitter session. Thanks Danny for making it available and Summer for posting it.
This looks promising for B5:
Q: @WxManShane Shane Smith
any new projects in the B5 Universe in the works?
A: That’s a far more interesting question than you might imagine…but
I can’t talk about it at the moment.

Posters on JMS’ fan page on Facebook says that JMS told folks at Comic Con that he’s in continuing negotiations with WB for a t.v. series. Rumors, yes, I know, they may just be rumors. But, maybe not just rumors!
