Welcome to Show #267!
Tim updates us on some “Before Watchmen” news, including a March Newsarama interview with JMS about the miniseries, in particular the discussions over ownership and creative control.
Feedback: Tim, Jeremy and special guest Michael Dymond (Stormknight) tackle the second batch of voicemails, and it’s 100% Neil from Bowie, because that’s how we have to handle it whenever he gets on a roll.
Neil agrees with the bad implementation of the concept/design of the holographic weapons system in the Liandra; Neil weighs in on the budgets for Lost Tales vs Legend of the Rangers vs A Call to Arms; Neil is giddy over his intent to pre-order of Before Watchmen; (Bad Joke, Neil, Bad Joke); Neil wants to know if we’ll cover all the materials in the Official B5 Magazines;
Neil would like someone to directly ask JMS whether or not there may or may not have been some telepath involvement with the demon possession in Lost Tales; Neil enjoyed the post-show close discussion of the autopilot mode of the Lost Tales DVD, and the new Season 7 music; Neil weighs in on the speculation about whether or not Captain Gideon survived and lasted through the entire series run of Crusade (so, any chance we’ll get those Crusade graphic novels to finish out the story?); Neil reminds us to get The Jason Davis back on to chat about the Echoes series; Neil mentions Quantum Leap as a misstep that NBC Universal made with replacement music on the DVDs that they may have learned from to convince them to get Miami Vice correct
Discussion: David writes in to give us a little education about the science behind “ramming speed”; Nan writes in wondering why Earth would have been the Centauri target of the Lost Tales future, rather than the Interstellar Alliance headquarters on Minbar; Nan also asks if there’s a map that shows the actual order of floor levels on the station because what she’s found confuses her.
Are there official blueprints and cutaways for Babylon 5?
Also, everyone preparing to join us (or sit in for us) to review and discuss the novels should be in the on-deck circle getting loose!

Lurker’s Guide 2.0: Summer is expanding the documentation to be covered at Lurker’s Guide 2.0, the major change being converting the episode guide into a full Wiki with cross-referenced topics, tidbits and everything you’d want in a Wiki. She’s also still searching for pictures of rare collectibles, photos of magazine covers and toys, and all sorts of other B5 goodies that didn’t get included in the original guide during the years after Crusade. Let her know if you want to lend a hand.
More Parody/Filk Songs Wanted: If you know of any more B5-related fan songs out there, definitely let us know, so we can let other B5 fans know where to buy them! And if those CDs are out of print, let’s brainstorm on ways to get those songs back out there for fans!
