Well, not much I had not heard before, but, as you say,
Never Surrender Dreams.
I think it will happen, eventually, but who knows when ?
Oh… My… God…
Well, it’s like anything. When will be a year from now to never. This is just talks. I wonder if they looked at how much they’ve made off the show and considered it a possibly wise investment assuming what JMS would want in terms of money to make it. The way movies are going as long as he doesn’t have to have too much they could recoup their money in theaters, possibly, and then easily make much more in dvd sales if this its good!
I really wish we had sales figures for the series dvds since they went out till now. That would be some interesting data.
The info for this came from this interview:
http://www.mediumatlarge.net/2009/01/battlestar-would-win-jms-sits-down-with.html
It’s really fun, I’d give it a look.
As far as WB goes, I wouldn’t say they’ve opened the gates on a movie, but they’re definitely looking through the peep hole.
To tell you the truth I don’t know what to think. First JMS gives us his speech. Go big go home. (To dense it down) Now Warner Brothers after seeing what JMS is doing for people like Eastwood and others are saying, ok how big do you want B5. They have opened a door. My first thought was cool their talking. It would be nice to see new B5 content out there on the big screen. To see our beloved Vorlon in the shower curtain one more time but I wouldn’t hold my breath.
I don’t believe Warner Brothers will screw this up. I have a feeling JMS will. I think JMS has set his idea about B5 so high Warner Brothers is going to get space sick. After last year’s, grouse announcement (which I will not repeat out of anger) to make a statement like that JMS said. He has people coming to him how to write and for him to backtrack to Babylon 5 it will take more money than I believe Warner Brothers will spend. JMS has set this up to fail. Well that is all I have to say, I need tea.
It’s always the little person who is screwed in the end.
I think I just sharted myself…
So going on day 10 since the last show…are we doing a monthly rather than weekly schedule now???
@Offended Narn – I am going to put this out there plainly because I’m pretty sure the rest of the folks involved in the show are too polite to say it themselves. I’m sorry but you pay how much for this podcast again? Oh that is right …. NOTHING!
Sorry you are so offended about the lateness of the show, but some of us do have jobs/lifes/things outside the podcast that just plain have to come first. We do our best to get the show out, but sometimes we just can’t get it out on time.
If it upsets you that much…by all means start and edit you own show. Maybe then you will see the effort that a show likes this takes and then understand why the release might slip on occasion.

@ Offended Narn, Brad came off a little harsh, even though the core of what he says is true. These people have full time jobs, and a social life that comes ahead of this project from time to time.
I too feel your anxiousness about getting a new podcast, and things have been a little off kilter since the holidays. These hosts do love this show, and I’m sure everyone will be back in the groove soon.
As the great maker says, faith manages.
@Brad
I am sorry if my question offended you, it certainly wasn’t my intention. I understand people are busy and have lives, and I understand the podcast comes to us for free (altho I have donated more than once), but with no other info what are we to think? If people need the break thats fine. I just want to know so I dont log on every day wondering and not knowing when the next show will be. Its totally ok to put up a post that says “we are swamped, show will be up a few days late..” Those of us who dont have direct line like Gary would just like to know…because for some of us this amazing podcast is one of the absolute highlights of our week…
So 😛
Just dont forget that there are few things as inherently dangerous as an offended Narn!
@OffendedNarn
While I do still 100% stand behind the sentiments I expressed in my previous post….I realize I could have chosen my words a bit better. You just happened to catch me with the wrong kinda of post at the wrong time.
As for posting updates…..that part is out of my hands. I do not have a login access to the podcast site. Everyone has a direct line as far as I am concerned. You can always reach me at: Brad (at) PodCulture (dot) net or send me a message on Skype … just look for “PodCulture”
Brad
I don’t have a direct line either. I use the email addresses listed on the web site to contact Tim and Summer, Brad’s is listed over at Podculture, and of course the voicemail line.
I do my best to keep info current during the holiday schedule, and during other breaks that come up. You bring up a good point, and I will talk to the hosts about having breaks and other events better noted on the site. No fan wants to be left hanging, your truly included.
Before anyone puts out a Shon’Kar on anyone else…
The honorable Offended Narn and Brad Our Intrepid Editor have touched on a matter that is at the heart of such productions. Both individuals are correct – and both must be sensitive to the position of the other.
For my part, I am always humbled by the overwhelmingly positive response the podcast receives.
Please, if you do have any issues or concerns, absolutely email the show. I do my best to respond in a timely fashion – though that’s not always the case. Sometimes ya gotta use the two-by-four approach with me. Don’t worry, I won’t get upset. 🙂
